Introducing the Bromley Conservatoire Musical Carousel

On Friday 7th November, we were excited to see the launch of the new Bromley Conservatoire musical carousel!

This is a programme which runs on Fridays for children aged 5-10 years old allowing them to attend a weekly, 45 minute, class where they will be able to learn the violin, piano and guitar. The children are paired up and spend 15 minutes on the first instrument before moving over to spend another 15 minutes on the next instrument and then move a final time for the last instrument for the remaining 15 minutes. We are running three identical carousels. They are on Fridays at 4:00pm - 4:45pm, 5:00pm - 5:45pm and 6:00pm - 6:45pm.

This group is perfect for your child if you or they are interested in learning an instrument but are unsure where to begin. All three instruments (piano, violin and guitar) are perfect, beginner-friendly, instruments. Your child can get a feel for the different instruments over the course of the term before then deciding which instrument they might like to go on to learn in a weekly, 1-2-1 capacity.

Why should young children learn a musical instrument?

🧠 1. Builds Coordination and Focus

Playing an instrument strengthens hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. Participating in music lessons also helps children to build concentration and focus, great skills for school and everyday life.

💬 2. Grows Confidence

As children learn to play new songs, they see what practice and persistence can achieve. Performing in front of others helps them feel proud and confident in their abilities.

👯 3. Teaches Teamwork

When the children play music with each other, they learn how to listen, cooperate, and support their peers.

🎨 4. Inspires Creativity

Music opens up a world of imagination. Whether children are making up their own tunes or experimenting with different sounds and instruments, they learn to think creatively and explore freely.
