Biography
Leonardo Landini, originally from Vigevano, Italy, is a London-based musician and composer specializing in film composition, orchestration, live performance, and music education. His musical background spans classical, jazz, and pop/rock, and he is proficient in piano, electric guitar, and bass. Leonardo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Popular Music Performance from the University of West London (UWL) and a Master of Music in Composition for Film, both of which set the foundation for his current PhD research on the role of music in thriller and horror films. His cinematic portfolio includes award-winning scores for 2 Sisters, Il Giorno Infinito, and Monitus, and his research focuses on the interplay of suspense and emotion in film music, with a particular emphasis on gestural analysis in film scoring. In 2019, Leonardo joined the band Rollingexile as a bassist, contributing to three album recordings and touring extensively across Europe. Alongside his work in film and performance, Leonardo is a dedicated music educator. He teaches piano and guitar at the Bromley Conservatoire and lectures in Composition and Harmony at UWL.
