Through The Year
What the class is working on, by half-term
Public Speaking is taught across the school year. Each half-term has a clear focus, so students and families can see what the class is working towards.

Autumn 1
September – October
Exam preparation. Students structure their exam material, speak clearly and establish stance, eye contact and audience awareness.

Autumn 2
October – December
First showcase. The class plans and delivers a group speech, debate or spoken-word piece, with solo work from each student.
- 03
Spring 1
January – February
Exploratory work and examination. Students experiment with form and audience, build general public-speaking skills and begin preparing for the next examination.

Spring 2
February – April
Exam preparation. Students sustain their delivery under examination conditions, respond in conversation and explain how they prepared the work.

Summer 1
April – May
Second showcase. The class plans and delivers a group speech, debate or spoken-word piece, with solo work and a more advanced form.

Summer 2
May – July
Performance and exploratory work. Students perform part-way through the half-term, then experiment and begin writing towards the next approved examination.
The year's teaching is organised by half-term, moving between examination preparation, showcase work and exploratory class time.

An introduction to drama, song and shared performance for ages 3–5, in a small group and with a clear teaching purpose rather than unstructured play.
Young Performers

Ages 5–7
Individual skills in public speaking, acting and musical theatre for ages 5–7, taught in a small group. This is the class before children choose one or more specialisms. Young Performers is part of the performing arts membership.
Acting & Musical Theatre

Ages 7–16
Acting, song and movement taught together in a small group, with attention to text, character and performance. From ages 7–16, students join Storytellers, Rising Stars or Headliners according to their age.
Acting for Screen

Ages 7–16
Screen-focused acting in a small group, with Trinity examination preparation. From ages 7–16, students join Storytellers, Rising Stars or Headliners according to their age.
