Mercedes Lovera is an outstanding violinist, violist, pianist and music pedagogue with more than 15 years of international experience in Venezuela, Spain, the United States and the United Kingdom. Trained at world-renowned institutions such as the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid and the Mozarteum University of Salzburg, she also holds a Master's Degree in Music Therapy and a Master's Degree in Educational Management and Planning.
Her interpretive career includes her work as a member of the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra and founder within the renowned orchestral movement "El Sistema" in Venezuela, participating in international tours, chamber music groups and recordings.
As a pioneer and innovator in the pedagogical field, she created the National Program of Pre-Children's Orchestras of Venezuela. Throughout her career, she has directed music departments, coordinated large-scale cultural events, and developed teaching methodologies adapted to various ages and population groups. Her commitment to education and social impact earned her the 2023 Educational Excellence Award at PACONY (New York). Currently, she continues her artistic and teaching work in London.
